Cecchetti Classical Ballet Scholarship Scheme

The Scholarship Scheme based in London offers a thirty-week training programme for talented young dancers.   At the end of the year students have the opportunity to perform at a prestigious venue.   In past years this has been The Royal Ballet School, but in July 2011 students performed at The Lowry, Manchester, UK as part of the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition programme.

Classes are held over three terms. There are no charges for these classes, and auditions are held in June each year.  The programme includes

Audition date for entry 2012/13 - Sunday 10th June 2012 

Auditions for 2012 / 2013 will be held on Sunday 10th June 2012 at The Rambert School, Clifton Lodge, St Margaret’s Road, Twickenham, Middlesex, TW1 1QN. 

Entry Criteria

Acceptance to this scheme is by audition only.  To be considered students must be between 11 and 15 years of age on 1st September 2012.  They must be receiving their training in Cecchetti classical ballet and have attained a minimum of their Grade 4 or Standard 5 Cecchetti Ballet qualification.  Each student accepted will be awarded a Scholarship for one year. The value of the Scholarship is £1000 per annum. The Scholarship classes are designed to complement the student’s regular classes which should be continued as before, and their teacher’s permission be given for them to attend.
